- (01/01/2012) SR Project Scheduler for an Illinois/travel ERP project
Project based in Central Illinois. Minimum 6 months with potential to exceed 1 year.
- Overview:
Client is in the middle of a global process transformation and ERP
implementation, the largest project outside building new plants in the
history of this $6+ billion manufacturer. The project touches nearly
all business processes across all functions in every business and
every country in which they operate.
Looking for someone to take on the high visibility, high impact role
of Project Scheduler. This role requires a scheduling expert
comfortable with very detailed planning in MS Project and Excel. They
need someone to develop the detailed plan and help them look forward
so they can proactively recognize and manage the project’s
complexities.
· Facilitate and document the detailed WBS for remaining project deliverables
· Work with the client’s Consulting SME’s to develop reasonable estimates
· Develop the detailed rolling six month resource loaded schedule
· Collaborate with the PMO and various PM’s to maintain the schedule and communicate it throughout the team
· Support the PM’s in providing information they need to enable their success and accountability
· Monitor execution and report schedule adherence across the project; build bridges with project team members to ensure accurate monitoring and reporting
· Recommend and support implementation of corrective actions
Requirements:
· MUST have deep experience developing detailed schedules, ideally
but not necessarily in the context of SAP implementations – the client
is more interested in experience with complexity rather than
specifically with SAP or IT projects in general
· Intermediate to advanced MS Project skills. Strong proficiency
in activity estimating, understanding the various types of task
constraints and modeling interdependencies. Experience modeling
various resource loads a significant plus. Advanced features like
creating custom fields, custom views and conditional formatting very
helpful.
· Excellent verbal communication skills, both one-on-one and in
small groups. Proven ability to explain complicated topics to
non-technical people for whom English is not their native language.
· Experience identifying and providing the appropriate level of
detail for Project Managers, the PMO and senior executives.
· PMP absolutely required, PMI-SP an enormous plus – if you not
even sure what the PMI-SP is, this role isn’t for you
Nice to have
· Experience on international projects a plus
· The project language is UK English; proficiency in any number of
other western and central European languages a plus
· Any SAP experience, ideally implementation related, is a plus.
Other ERP implementation experience also acceptable.
· BPR experience also a plus
Role is four to five days per week on site in Central Illinois.
Limited likelihood of international travel.
