Please join us from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, for our meeting at the Feather Sound Country Club where Michelle Thomas will present –
What’s New: Microsoft Project 2010 and SharePoint Server 2010
In this presentation, we will review the new features of Project 2010 and SharePoint Server 2010, including Project’s new Fluid User Interface (Ribbon), Team Planner, Manual Scheduling Engine, Timeline View and other items that have comprised what many are calling the biggest change to the Project tool in the past 10 years! For SharePoint Server 2010, applications such as Project Server, Business Intelligence Dashboards and Performance Point Server are just a few of the services that are now integrated and completely dependent upon the SharePoint platform. We will discuss how this affects the end user and demonstrate the new Office Web Applications, which allow users to not only view but edit Microsoft Office documents directly in their browser, including Microsoft Project in Project Server. We will discuss SharePoint Mobile Access, which allows users to not only view but edit documents or lists directly from a SharePoint library on their mobile device, review the new social or People Connection and collaboration tools, such as tagging and My Site enhancements, and of course, view the reporting features of the new Visio and Excel Services, featuring Power Pivot, the new add-on to Excel that allows users to quickly and easily create and publish their own scorecards and dashboards directly to SharePoint sites.
